Despite breaking the lore a few times, this game captures LotR really well even outside the scope of the films. However, the game is long, repetitive and lacks any strategic depth. It's satisfying to stampede enemies with a cavalry charge, but they're so overpowered that they trivialize the game and can make it boring. Units are mostly one-dimensional and boring, and maps are usually bland open fields. Some battles in the campaign, such as Minas Tirath, are brilliant.Otherwise it's pretty boring
