In Twisted Metal 2, players will find that the gameplay is very similar to that of its predecessor. However, Twisted Metal 2 does feature many new notable gameplay mechanics. One addition is vehicle-common advanced moves. These moves allow players to press button combinations in order to perform special rechargeable maneuvers such as cloak, shield, and a napalm blast.

TM2 is when the series started to hit its stride. The sequel Boasts some really cool cutscenes and a greater variety of environments to blow up. However, mechanically, like the first game driving can be a bit cumbersome due to how rough steering is with occasionally unresponsive controls and the AI are still stupid assholes. Despite maintaining these flaws, the game is still a general improvement by including mechanics like advanced attacks and generally polishing up everything else.

This is the best of Twisted Metal. A shoot-em-up arcade-style car-bashing violence fest that was one of my staples whenever I had friends over. I'm sure it doesn't play near as smoothly as I remember it, but I'm gonna trust my child-self on this one.

The graphics are still hot garbage but the fun is there.
