The game still lacks the skill expression of the first two games but it's a bit better than 3 in the sense it does at least give you some wack ass gimmicks to extend combos and absolutely break the game in hilarious ways. Being a musou game, it has a lot more beef than most titles in the series but still pulls the same tropes the genre is notorious for such as the flat, brainless level design and enemies that have little baseline interaction beyond standing around and getting killed.
