Wasteland 3

There's a talking car that begs you to kill it so it has a chance to see Ronald Reagan in the afterlife... this game is rad! The world/lore is interesting, the characters are fun and distinct, the dialogue and voice acting are superior to most games, and the story is compelling and frequently funny. Some seriously annoying gameplay quirks don't hamper the experience much. This is how you make a sequel; improves the already good bits of Wasteland 2 and streamlines all the BS that held it back

Whatever this has going for it has to do with the venerable tradition it belongs to. The writing and voice acting here are shit, the world-building way behind Fallout's, the story humdrum, the mechanics outdated, tactical options scant, loot progression boring and linear, base-building overly streamlined, and a bug ensured that one of my characters suddenly lost all her skills and had negative attribute points. If you do want simplicity, play Wasteland 1 from 1988, it's but much better.
