American McGee's Alice (2000) - Rated 13 Feb 2026

I made it to around the end of chapter 3. By that point the game started to remind me of the boredom I felt repeating the gameplay loop in tomb raider. I liked the real life portions and the art style is cool but the game is just not fun because again the gameplay loop was very repetitive. Some of the lines were high school levels of depth as well such as the line ”Only the foolish believe that suffering is just wages for being different” which is completely wrong.

Deadly Premonition (2010) - Rated 29 Jan 2026

I've never watched Twin Peaks and I played with a really bad framerate on a PS3. Despite this it was an enjoyable and unique game with tons of depth in both its story and its simulated world. The biggest flaws with this game are: the game doesnt take itself seriously at times when it should, e.g playing cheap sound effects during a beautiful scene, both the plot and story are too hard to follow and both the gameplay and music get repetitive near the end game.

Life Is Strange (2015) - Rated 22 Jan 2026

The worldbuilding, aesthetics, people and the fluff content in this game are incredibly detailed and accurate to that time to the point that this game has more value as a time capsule rather than a good game. While the game story has some foreshadowing, a cool structure and cool characters, there is no character development for the two MC's and the gameplay mostly isnt fun at all. They also get too wordy sometimes which was especially annoying during more time sensitive scenes.

Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition (2014) - Rated 17 Jan 2026

The first video tape cutscene was funny and charming but sadly the story just gets worse after that to the point that I considered dropping the game. The environments were beautiful at times but they were mostly a chore to explore and sometimes felt repetitive color wise. The action elements are crazy and fun most of the time so if you're looking for a game to turn off your mind and play this might be it but its not much more than that. I also really dislike her accent. Finished on amazon luna

Fallout: New Vegas (2010) - Rated 10 Dec 2025

The world is barren and depressing and I know that gets excused as being intentional but whether it is or not doesn't really matter as it makes the game significantly less fun to play compared to using mods or playing Fallout 3. Honest Hearts had a cool environment but too few memorable characters or quests, LR had too much dialogue, OWB was aimless and DM should have had easier to navigate and more fleshed out environments and locations instead of constant generic rooms with a red tint.
