Life Is Strange is a game I very much wanted to like but I just couldn't. The game has some very strong charm and I feel like a lot of heart was put into it, but that ultimately couldn't save this game from its flaws. Its characters all feel very bland and one-note, and the plot is very meandering and melodramatic, and not in a good way. One major mystery goes completely unsolved and the game ends in a binary choice that renders the rest of it ultimately completely meaningless.

Entertaining and mostly upbeat episodic adventure. Life Is Strange has its own distinctive style, helping it to standout from others in the genre. The characters are all fleshed out with such rigorous detail, as is the world in which you navigate, strengthening player investment. The game isn't perfect and I did encounter an awfully annoying game breaking glitch...though overall that doesn't detract from the experience. Solid, solid game

A well executed story heavy game, with some interesting choice mechanics. Despite it's fantastical plot elements (and in several places, not entirely sound logic) it still manages to conjure a believable and engaging story, reminiscent of Donnie Darko. My main criticism would be it's length, several sections just feel too long and drawn out, in particular the last episode.

Mixed feelings on this one. The mystery of the story was great, and I think this is one of the butterfly effect games I've played that has really used that mechanic to its full potential. But where it started falling flat for me was with most of the characters and their relationships. I liked where a lot of them were going, but it felt like most of them were never rounded out. Usually, that wouldn't be too big of a deal to me, but just because of the story this tells, it's difficult to ignore.
