Bio: Purely personal ratings, not considering objective quality per se. I use a 5 point scale, using my gut reaction when I see the title. 5 - I love that, a personal fave! 4 - Oh yeah, that's good 3 - Average, decent, does the job 2 - Below par 1 - Ew!

78% God of War (2018) - Rated 16 Dec 2024
"I'm late to the GoW party, as the series never appealed to me. I've no bg in the old games. This one, from what I can tell, looks to have done a great job balancing its story for fans and newcomers. The blend of Norse and Greek mythology is neat, and the adventure is well crafted. There were annoying parts (though for good reason) and the gameplay is very repetitive, and not my style. But it's a well crafted game overall with no real flaws outside my personal preferences."
21% ABZÛ (2016) - Rated 16 Dec 2024
"Cool concept, but there's too little here. Sleepy."
4% Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 (2002) - Rated 16 Dec 2024
"Just awful. Very difficult to control, far too little variety in tracks, etc, horrificly slow progression/unlocking. Just no fun to play."
21% Fortnite (2017) - Rated 16 Dec 2024
"Not at all to my taste, and a far cry from where it started."
50% The LEGO Movie Videogame (2014) - Rated 16 Dec 2024
"Good, coop-able Lego fun."
21% The Sinking City (2019) - Rated 16 Dec 2024
"I wanted to like this game, as the premise is most intriguing. But I'm afraid the rusty same-y environments and the gross out imagery was just too much. I get why they did that, it's just not for me. It would have been helped a lot with human NPCs instead of the bizarre fish and monkey people."
78% Super Metroid (1994) - Rated 16 Dec 2024
"If I'd played this back in the day it would most likely be a 5. It can't have the same impact having already played later Metroids. It's easy to see why it has the reputation it does, though. Great game."
21% Turok 2: Seeds of Evil (1998) - Rated 27 Nov 2024
"In some ways better than the first one, but it still misses the mark overall. The cerebral bore remains the most vicious weapon design I've ever seen in a game."
21% Turok: Dinosaur Hunter (1997) - Rated 27 Nov 2024
"My rating feels harsh, but I can't justify anything higher. Turok has good ideas but bad execution. It was mediocre at the time, and I can't recommend going back to it now. Maybe try it for a bit but you won't play it through."
50% Robert E. Lee: Civil War General (1996) - Rated 18 Oct 2024
"A fine strategy game in the vein of the hexagonal miniature games like Memoir 44. Being a full CD-ROM experience from the mid 90s, it comes with educational resources, such as descriptions and photographs, to learn the history behind the scenarios."
