"This game has some of the most comprehensive and immersive lore I've ever encountered. A top five manual of all time is worth the price of admission alone. I love the way this game employs different factions and an "online forum" like newsfeed to make the game world come alive. Lots of cool concepts. Unfortunately, the gameplay doesn't quite match up. It's not bad per se, but it's scaled back from what they wanted, and isn't as satisfying as ES2."
Earthsiege 2 (1996) - Rated 06 Jun 2025
"More refined and polished than ES2 and introduces the flying H.E.R.C. The Razor is so good it makes any regular mech feel awful. A Razor with plasma cannon is basically game over for the Glitches. Put on some missile and basic lasers to round it out. Overall, game suffers a bit being too easy."

"Concept is fine, if not entirely original. Despite being made by flight sim masters, the controls are a bit weird. A joystick doesn't really help, either. The customization and scrap mechanics are good. Quite difficult. You really do feel like you're scraping for every chance to just see another day."

"It's really just a shmup in 3D but it's very well done, is innovative for the system (nothing like it on SNES), has a good challenge for any skill level, and secrets to find. Fun fact: the music is by the guy who wrote those ringtones for the Nokia bricks."
