This game had potential to be great but squanders it at every turn. Zack is likable but extremely cliche and one-dimensional, and we learn almost nothing new about him or any of the returning characters. Instead we get lots of clunky exposition and pretentious poetic drivel from Genesis, the lamest villain in FF history. The gameplay is janky and overly simplistic, made even more tedious by too many annoying gimmicks i.e the broken as fuck DMW and the repetitive side missions. Mediocre at best.
