Really not seeing where the Overwhelmingly Positive review score has come from. This game overall brings nothing to the table that most FPS's established and improved on back in the early 90's.

You can't just excuse dismal low-effort graphics by labelling them as "inspired by mid-00s games", especially when the mid-00s games you're referencing must have been released on the Nintendo DS. Music is spartan and vague, just a constant droning ambience that barely varies no matter what is actually happening at the time.

I'm not certain I even played the same game as all the reviewers talking about the 'fantastic megastructure world building', it's a big grey concrete structure, and you're stuck in it, that's about the full extent of the world as presented. Literally no explanation is given for why you fight any of the enemies you come across, who they are, or why they attack you on sight. The very final scene feels like it might just be getting started at presenting a sliver of a plotline, then the whole game ends. A disappointing and forgettable purchase even on sale.
