Battlefield 6
I only play Team Deathmatch in shooters. Well, at least 99 percent of the time. I didn't even bother playing the campaign because there are so many games out now to catch up that offer me a single-player experience that I only use this for multiplayer. Occasionally I played Conquest, and I tried the other modes a couple times from the beta to now. I just prefer TDM, so my review is based almost entirely around my experience in that. And when I talk about the maps, I mean them as used in TDM. I'm aware it's not the "core" Battlefield 6 experience, but also, don't gatekeep shit, it's stupid. Once art leaves the creator, it belongs (not legally, obviously) to the consumer in some sense.
The bad is that I will always hate things like battle passes where you can unlock some free stuff but have to spend money when you've already spent 100 bucks. We as fans allowed the industry to go down this path, but I'll always miss just getting a shooter, and then maybe eventually paying a little bit of cash for some extra maps down the road. But I'm not docking points for Battlefield 6 doing industry standard things.
I will dog it for its shitty map randomizer, though obviously I won't knock it down point-wise in any meaningful way. Someone has to tweak something. What I mean is, you can play a map, such as Mirak Valley, and then the next game is... Mirak Valley. I mean c'mon. I'm no game designer, but I don't think I've ever had this much of a problem with an online shooter before in this regard. You can just turn off certain maps but that's still a flaw: I want all maps included.
With that said, I love this game. There are maps that I suck at because they don't match my playstyle (like Mirak Valley, even though I actually like the bigger version of it), but I don't think I actually hate any maps. So that's a good chunk of what makes a shooter for me. Though I'm a Killzone fan and prefer how heavy it feels, this game is also satisfying to play. Shooting and movement are slick.
One aspect I will give special attention to is that I enjoy designated spawn points/sides a lot more than a random/hybrid (like Call of Duty). I like "fighting in a line." I like territorial warfare like Battlefield 6 gives me. This hearkens back to what I love about Killzone. I'm just better at it and enjoy it more. So that's definitely a big reason why I enjoy this as much as I do.

Mini Review: For what I use shooters for, it's great. But I'm very specific in what I play, so I don't speak for the campaign or anything. I say this with everyone multiplayer shooter, but if it feels good, has TDM and has good maps, I'm into it. And all of that is true, though it does feel faster than even Battlefield 4 does. The explosive nature of Battlefield is also nice. I like class-based games. And I like designated spawn sides rather than random/hybrid. The map randomizer is complete dogshit.
