Sorry, there are some movies for which I have a hair trigger.

nevertheless, i think about it a lot.
and then i have memories of discussions about it with other people, and the emotions spurred - so it's linked with memories in my life (which should probably always happen with art, yet never normally does with me).

Are those positive emotions and memories, about the movie I mean? I mean look here now, we're having a discussion about it right now. I get emotional about movies all the time, and it's unseemly for me; angry at the idiotic ones, and misty eyed at the ones that grab me. As many times as I've seen The Accountant, when the music starts for the last sequence.....

talking about that film helped develop relationships that had been stagnating. i remember those evenings.

i get caught in patterns in work, and forget to self-reflect. it's nice to get a slap in the face by a film like this now-and-then.

A couple that come very close are El botón de nácar and Un voyageur. Oppenheimer is no doubt a very promising documentarian, but I wasn't quite persuaded to completely accept the ethics of An Act of Killing, and The Look of Silence is very good but not quite at the level of those listed above.
