Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced

The main reason this works so well is the original story, and the presentation of that story, which is largely intact. The graphics upgrades are nice, but every other change to the game is a downgrade compared to the original. Newer cutscenes also show the effects of Ubisoft's recent lack of proper mocap. The combat especially is frustrating, as are the more frequent storms while sailing. Thankfully, enough of the original remains to keep this fun.
