Assassin's Creed Rogue

Playing as an Assassin-turned-Templar is different and kind of interesting, but the game as a whole is pretty average. Most memorable part was the first mate's strong Transatlantic accent.

great concept, messy in execution

Assassin’s Creed Rogue is the franchise’s stranger, an outcast released in the shadow of "next-gen" glitz. To play it is to confront the Absurd: a functional, icy loop of recycled Black Flag mechanics. Shay Cormac is the metaphysical rebel, rejecting the Brotherhood’s dogma for a desperate lucidity. The game strips away moral binaries, leaving only a gray, workmanlike competence. In its refusal to pretend to be new, in its cold repetition, one must imagine the player happy. - Full Review

Enjoyable gameplay, though it is pretty much a Black Flag clone in that regard. My main problem is with the ridiculous story, playing as a Templar felt like a gimmick and the character development is pretty stupid. Still a fun game despite these problems.
