Atelier Iris 2: The Azoth of Destiny
Atelier Iris 2: The Azoth of Destiny is the seventh game in the official Atelier series, and the second game in the Iris Series. Although the game was released after Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana, the game's story is a prequel to the first game in the Iris series. Typical JRPG, except for the alchemy system (which is a core element in the Atelier series), and a story focus on two protagonists.

A good battle system, very similar to Grandia. Incredible soundtrack, deep alchemy system and some great quality of life ideas such as telling you how many unopened chests are left on each map make this a joy to play. Story starts off very generic but eventually unfolds to some very interesting ideas.

About as generic as a JRPG can be. Talking swords, mana, unimaginative character names ('Chaos'), etc. I completed nearly every JRPG in my day, but couldn't slog through this one. Not really bad, just terribly mediocre.
