Brawlhalla

For all the shit people like myself give to Smash Bros, this game is even worse. In contrast to Smash, special moves are one-dimensional - they're either a movement option or some sort of burst, both of which are boring and make a lot of characters samey. The game discourages aggressive play and defensive options are virtually non-existent, making constant passive play prevalent at higher levels with the player who loses being the one who gets impatient and makes a mistake first.

As a big fan of Smash, I approached this with a lot of interest, but it has neither the charm or refined gameplay of that series.
