Wow did this title go DARK. Had some neat additions- building a town, elemental merges, and it did better to give characters personalities. At times the difficulty just spikes/drops, so you'll face a fight too tough. That's just something to ride out.

Loved the variety of party members and the unique ability each one possessed. The way decision making was done was also great, adding to its charm in many areas. However, the encounter rates in this game were obnoxious and I hated the final dungeon for that reason. The game has a lot of backtracking, but that wouldn't be so bad if the random encounter rate wasn't so high. Still, this is among one of the best JRPG's on the SNES and I can't help but adore its charm and neat mechanics.
