The gameplay has some neat ideas, but ultimately it's a shallow Dynasty Warriors clone. But nobody really plays Drakengard for the gameplay - the plot of this game is INSANE. Hell, it could be argued that the mundane gameplay is made to compliment the nutty theme of this title. While trying to get the alternate endings is painful and the voice acting/dialog can be really cheesy at times, Drakengard is worth playing just for the crazy yet intriguing plotline alone.

This is the most difficult low score I've ever had to give. The gameplay is a boring and terrible chore even compared to other Yoko Taro games and getting the endings can be convoluted. However, Drakengard has some absolutely bizarre and downright shocking writing and most of it happens to make the game better. Perhaps worthy of a let's play viewing but not nearly good enough to sit down to get through because it is painful at the best of times.
