EotE's biggest strength is its focus on narrative story telling. Where something like Dungeons and Dragons can be played in theater of the mind, it also has lots of numbers where you can place units on a grid. With this, your blaster doesn't have a range of 50 meters or 100, it fits in short, medium, or long-range. The dice lack actual numbers. They have different facings representing triumph, despair, success, failure, advantage, and threat. It all makes for wonderful group story telling.
