It's always nice when the second game is the best in a trilogy. A shame the console ports didn't come out until everyone stopped caring about this series. The Sega CD version of EoB2 would have been killer! We have here a bigger, funner, prettier evolution over the first game. While EoB1 is rightfully the one regarded as a classic, this is better in EVERY way...it's just not different in ANY way. We still don't have an automap for some reason, but that was the era, I guess.

Played in 2022 this was a lot of fun. Great atmosphere, art, characters, intro and ending. I used the complementary Clue Book - as found in the GOG version of the game - open on one of my screens in order to follow the map, while the game was playing on my other screen. Great bit of fun, insanely creative puzzles and challenges to solve, VERY difficult (I encourage you to be liberal with points allocation at the beginning) and a tough final boss. On to Eye 3 now. /completed
