This time, the tournament is held worldwide with fighters around the globe competing. An improvement over the last title being faster and adding more buttons to press, but the game is still sluggish and barebones compared to its successors. It's lacking in basic FG elements such as meter management or the ability to do combos. Like the last game, it relies on the neutral game as its basis and while there's actually a roster to work with this time around the use of special moves and normals is still extremely cumbersome making the neutral pretty garbo.
