Furies' shield system is kind of lame but the way abilities are designed provides interesting synergy in co-op play without anyone having to be totally reliant on another. While the enemy and encounter design could get samey at times the levels were diverse and gameplay never got repetitive. Mechanically the game is pretty barebones but the game allows you to attack cancel which allows for snappy reactions to enemy attacks. As a game focused on movement and positioning, this is pretty solid.

The ways in which it forces cooperation is a nice touch, though I think to say it's astounding in that regard would be overblowing it a tad. Either way, it's a good brawler-RPG to play with a friend or friends. Sense of humour sometimes veers off into cringey memedom/internet humour, but at the same time some of the jokes hit. Gameplay is not incredibly deep but it's satisfying; the game itself can be quite challenging if you're not focusing.
