Mechanically simplistic games that are endlessly replayable. What makes these games work is that the games become progressively difficult in how they elevate the speed of hazards and mixes it up with various different types of hazards laid out in random but complex patterns. Getting good at these games is satisfying if you set goals for yourself, which the game rewards you for. The remake games are clearly better than the originals, but it's a nice novelty to be given the option to play them.
