Ghost of Yotei

not a vast, but mild improvement on the predecessor. the open world feels more alive, with more stuff to do and encounter, although it still can't hold a candle to the king (RDR2). plot and protagonist are a nice little eastern translation of the western gunslinger revenge myth. nothing too fancy, but the visceral, fluid combat and outstanding audiovisual presentation make it a must for fans of samurai cinema.

Contrary to what some have said, I don't consider this to be better than Ghost of Tsushima. It particularly has a problem hooking the audience with a good story at the start. The story does eventually develop once it introduces some new characters, but it takes a while to really feel invested in what's going on. Before that it feels like any other open world checklist game. Graphics and gameplay are brilliant though.
