Before Red Dead Redemption. Gun was the open world western game for me. Yes finale was weak, there was little to none boss fights in it. But still the feeling of free-roaming with your horse and the slow-mo combat was great. Also the visual were pretty nice for its time.

(Gamecube version) Enjoyable gameplay though repetitive. Huge difficulty spike near the end unfortunately but overall a good, solid game.

This game just never rose above mediocre for my tastes. There were better shooters, better westerns, and better stories, even for it's era. It's not bad, just very bland and forgettable.
