Upon arriving in the mining town of Tiese, a young girl named Parin finds no children to play with, until she encounters a monster girl named Pino. She is then introduced to the Monster Village where she meets other monsters that she instantly befriends. So saccharine it hurts. It has personality, but the game is pretty shallow. The combat is functional, but most of the time you'll just be mashing and the enemy/level design usually doesn't make you think much beyond that. The level design is aesthetically pleasing to look at, but it feels fairly generic and uninteresting. Gurumin isn't a terrible game by any means, it's just extremely mediocre and innocuous - which is especially odd given the fantastic games its developer has made.
