come for the hotline miami gameplay, stay for the christopher nolan story

It is quite short, but I don't think that's a bad thing. I barely felt frustrated playing it, and never felt bored. The controls are easy to grasp and it's very satisfying when you learn how to play properly. The story is interesting enough to want to get to the end, and its gameplay suits perfectly with the story being told. The post-game weapons let you replay the story with a twist in the core gameplay which is appreciated. I will totally buy its sequel day one. Also, you can pet a cat.

Gameplay is very good, but cutscenes are tedious af.

I'm in love with this game. It's quite short, but it checks all the boxes for me: a great story with a novel premise (I mean, you talk to a therapist after murdering dudes) that is told in a kinetic and frantic way, gameplay that is simple but engaging with a variety of different moves you can do that lead to satisfying results. You can pull off some cool stuff if you're good. Awesome music and visual style. There's a pretty abrupt cliffhanger though, unfortunately.
