Mortal Kombat 1

Really pretty great. The first Mortal Kombat I’ve ever played. I enjoy it. The only problem is if you include all DLC’s, I think the game is well over $100.

Feels a little too rushed after the previous one (I would've preferred a break to have a new Injustice game) and the story is absolute dogshit, but the old MK charm is still here. Kameos feel a little gimmicky but are fun and they really went big on some of the super moves that seem gamebreaker but who cares? I'd appreciate a break before the next installment.

Its myriad flaws and inexplicable drawbacks compared to its predecessor are made even more embarrassing when taking into consideration that it was released right in-between two all-time great entries in the Street Fighter and Tekken series. For as disappointing as it is as a whole, it does remain unmatched in its genre in terms of story mode. Despite the game clearly being rushed out the door, they did manage to nail that part of the game--a significant saving grace.
