The player begins with six lives instead of four. The game has twenty-five levels and sixteen Galaxian mazes in six different environments. The plot involves Pac-Man finding five golden fruits that were stolen by ghosts. These fruits were vital to his town. Pac-Man must sometimes fight and defeat enemies in order to progress. At the end of each area is a boss. The boss is always a ghost in a giant machine (the fifth machine holds all four ghosts), excluding the final boss. (wikipedia.org)

A noteworthy improvement over the last game. The controls have improved and removed a lot of the jank of its predecessor. It doesn't try to mix up the formula of the last game, but it does improve upon its foundations. Still, the game has issues with camera control and the way completion is done for each level is grating and obnoxious. Some sections of the game, like the slide, are notorious for their bad design. I wouldn't mark this among the best platformers, but it's a damn good time.
