Persona 5 Strikers is a crossover between Koei Tecmo's hack and slash Dynasty Warriors series and Atlus's turn-based role-playing game Persona series. As a result, it features gameplay elements from both, such as the real-time action combat of the former with the turn-based Persona-battling aspect of the latter. The game is set six months after the events of Persona 5, and follows Joker and the rest of the Phantom Thieves of Hearts as they end up in a mysterious version of Tokyo filled with supernatural enemies.

I missed the confidant links from the original, but this was still a fun sequel with the P5 characters I've grown to love. The new combat style took some getting used to (I haven't played any Dynasty Warriors-like games before) but it ultimately worked well. There were some audio issues on the English language track (the VAs had to record at home during COVID) so I recommend subtitles. Great music, as you'd expect from this franchise.

I had certain issues with Persona 5 that killed my enjoyment but they don't exist here so I actually like this more than Persona 5 because, for the most part, it just lets me enjoy the stories (a lot of the requests are mundane though). I'm a fan of musuo games so the combat appeals to me. The music, characters, story, etc... all great. Does a wonderful job of making dungeons seem huge, which most RPGs can't accomplish, and I have a fondness for Jungian psychology which this clearly uses.
