I had as much fun looking at the box art as I did playing the game. It's a really fun box.

Easily the best game to come out for Atari 2600. It's one of the few games on the platform that I was able to sit through and play for more than 10 minutes. Swinging on vines over hungry alligators was ahead of it's time.

It handles very smoothly and looks nice, and I appreciate that they were making a platformer that feels "big," on the 2600, at a time when platformers were (A) a brand-new genre, and (B) single screen, so I can see how this was an innovative and impressive hit in its context.... but on the other hand, I'd have to say there are so many of those single-screen platformers from that initial wave that are much more fun to actually play than repeating these same few actions for 20 minutes (or less).

Honestly the game is mechanically decent if shallow, but its gameplay loop is incredibly boring even by Atari standards. Going through the same platforming layout over and over again doesn't exactly enthrall me.
