Pokémon Sun & Moon

This was the first Pokemon game I had a big struggle completing. The story is almost insulting with how hand holdy everything is. You basically have a cut scene every time you enter a new area and the story is bland as hell. They brought back character customization which is good but made online more of a pain in the ass by replacing PSS with Festival Plaza. Z-Moves and Regional variants are good. Mimikyu was a great new Pokemon. Most others are pretty cool but often lackluster in competitive.

the isometric angle is off-putting and there's a fucking cutscene every two minutes. I hate being an old man when it comes to video games, but seriously, can I just go on an adventure? returned it after the 4th island challenge.

The series begins to wilt again. Alola variants don't add much here. Not many new ones.
