Quest 64

Quest 64

1998
Role-Playing
The playable character is an apprentice mage named Brian. Brian sets off to find his father who has left the monastery of the mages—the player learns later that his father is looking for a thief who has stolen the "Eletale Book." The player must also collect elemental amulets, which have been hoarded by powerful criminals and are integral in the defeat of the game's final boss. The game's story is set in Celtland, a fantastic medieval world that resembles Ireland. (Wikipedia)

WHAT U TALKIN ABOUT I'M NOT JEALOUS OF THE PLAYSTATION'S RPGS N64 FOREVER BABY (*gazes longingly at Final Fantasy VII, single tear falls down cheek*)

The game is as barebones as an RPG could get in that era, even when compared to other N64 RPG's. The game reuses assets constantly and the map design is so bland that it's easy to get lost in it. The combat is really easy to break - just level up the earth tree and you'll get two spells that outright trivialize most of the game. For what it's worth the game has some neat ideas and there's some fun in experimenting with distance, but overall it's a poorly designed turd of a game.
