Spider-Man (also known as Spider-Man: The Movie) is a video game based upon the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man, and is also loosely based on the 2002 film Spider-Man. The game is a level based beat 'em up video game, with the player as Spider-Man. Half the levels are indoors, but the rest of the levels are outside among the sky-scrapers of New York and require him to web-sling from building to building. An unremarkable game, although a fair deal more polished and self-aware than most movie tie-in titles. While the humor is pretty good, the controls are stiff, sluggish and awkward, with crappy combat that's made worse by an unreliable camera. The game reminds me a bit of the Spider-Man games in the N64/PS1 era, but unlike those games, this title isn't nearly as creative with level design and is just boring comparatively.
