SteamWorld Dig

Has a really satisfying gameplay loop and a good sense of progression through the upgrades and the changing scenery/difficulty as you get deeper and deeper. Didn't care for the ending boss (and I don't think a game like this really needs a boss at all, the mechanics don't really suit it), but it didn't sour the experience or anything. It's pretty short and can be beaten in a single sitting depending on how you approach the exploration, which is A-OK in my book.

I enjoy the steampunk retro aesthetic and the play control but I found the digging begin to get pretty monotonous after a few hours.

It's an okay throw on Spotify and dig for treasure game.
