Street Fighter (Sutor?to Fait?) is a 1987 arcade game developed by Capcom. It is the first competitive fighting game produced by the company and the inaugural game in the Street Fighter series. While it did not achieve the same worldwide popularity as its sequel Street Fighter II when it was first released, the original Street Fighter introduced some of the conventions made standard in later games, such as the six button controls and the use of command based special techniques. Well... the sequel's better.

A game few would remember if not for the sequel. The big, colorful sprites and environments are its strongest elements, but the hopelessly unresponsive controls (with or without the gimmicky pressure-sensitive buttons from some arcade cabinets) make it little more than a curiosity. Still, they did rework the concept into something much more polished and accomplished eventually. In the game's own words: "Try again, kiddo."

You'd probably have better luck actually performing these special moves in real life.
