The Castles of Burgundy

A very cool game where you can easily score as many points early in the game as you can at the end, rather than a standard build up of points. Very competitive, lots of fun, but very poor component quality.

Games about collecting victory points seem to not be the best type for me because I'm not a fan of how I can play a full game of Burgundy and then say "Alright, now let's total the points and discover who was playing better." It's probably just because I haven't played enough to truly learn strategies well, but the winner feels like an end game surprise. That aside, it's still pretty fun throughout to play. I just prefer board games with more immediate feedback.
