Two years have passed since the last King of Fighters tournament. Nobody has seen Kyo Kusanagi or Iori Yagami since they defeated the evil being Orochi at the climax of the 1997 tournament. I like this game but it has its problems. Dig the new characters like K' and Maxima and the game is fairly balanced, but the smaller roster and shittier mechanics make it feel like a downgrade from 98. For one thing, strikers were completely worthless in the game with maybe one or two good ones that were still severely limited. Meter built up way too fast which allowed for the ARMOR and MAX systems to be abused in dumb ways. This is also one of the glitchiest fighters I've ever played.
