Where The Water Tastes Like Wine

The art style fits the feeling of the game beautifully and so does the music. It nails the folky atmosphere in both visuals and audio, but the gameplay loop leaves a little to be desired. Traveling from one place to another becomes a bit of a drag because hitchhiking is wonky, your skeleton moves too slow, and the speed-walking mini-game you have to play is annoying. Some of the stories are pretty interesting and I was into it quite a bit for a while but then it became repetitive in a bad way.

Really cool premise, but the game suffers from a weak gameplay loop where collecting stories is a meandering process and the resource management is so miniscule to be almost irrelevant, which is made worse by how much it drags after about 2 hours. While the writing is good, the overall narrative is too disjointed to be impactful and most of the stories are just simple pastiches. This is a game that would have benefitted from reducing its scale and focusing on a few characters.
