Despite the incredibly dumb and lame plot, (although the goofy animations can make it unintentionally hilarious) I found this pretty enjoyable. The combat is structured in such a way that everyone in your party feels like they matter and fill an important niche. The grid system is really neat and they get really creative with it in boss fights, which are plentiful. The RNG in random battles can be obnoxious and the battle system can easily be broken with Raquel, but it's otherwise a solid JRPG.
