and i gave up on the series halfway through this. those random encounters were just so. fucking. long. mashing the same complicated button sequences over and over and over and over and over...christ. i just couldn't do it. such a shame for such a promising series.

The "realistic" approach to character design in this game is oddly off-putting and bizarre to look at. Aside from that, I wasn't as keen on this - I always thought Jr's plotline was one of the weakest in the series, and to have an entire game dedicated to this was a bit grating. On the other end, battles felt like they lasted forever and enemies could be really damage spongey at times. A shame, too, because I thought the battle system in this was neat and I liked the side quest structure.
