It is one year after the events of Xenosaga Episode II. Shion Uzuki has resigned from Vector Industries after discovering that they are partially responsible for the Gnosis outbreak which have plagued mankind. Shion now works for Scientia, a secret organization dedicated to resisting Vector.The KOS-MOS project has been abandoned, seemingly replaced by the mysterious T-Elos project. Has a fantastic first disc, but the 2end disc is a clusterfuck. You could tell that they ran out of time and budget with the series at this point. Still, this is the peak of the Xenosaga series - Shion's characterization is fascinating and reaches its zenith, it's the most visually interesting (even by today's standards), and it has the best music. The gameplay is also at its best, having one of the most enjoyable (if perhaps underutilized) combat systems in any turn based RPG.
