Game Buff - 107 Game Ratings

Member Since: Oct 12, 2007

Bio: A 50/100 is an average movie based on my scoring. Fortunately, I tend to watch good or great movies, so my tiers are a bit messed up!

100 - Platinum
90 - Gold
80 - Silver
70 - Good
60 - Decent
50 - Average
40 - Poor
20 - Very Bad
10 - Atrocious
00 - Malignant

There are two components I consider before arriving at a film's score.

1. Genre - A children's movie will be ranked with other children's movies in mind.

2. Overall appeal - how enjoyable the film is ignoring its genre.

Thus, it is possible for a film at the height of its genre to score in the 70 range if I outright hate that genre. While I try to score films with their genres in mind -- it is silly to compare Seven Samurai with Dumb and Dumber -- the final score will lean heavily to my personal enjoyment.

"The story moves along at a nice clip, featuring different locales and playstyles throughout, which keeps the game feeling quite fresh. It's the game equivalent of a page-turner. "

"Just not my cup of tea. My friends raved about Ravenholm, which did nothing for me at all -- I had to double check with them that I had, indeed, gone through that area. Bland. "
