SANABI
This review contains spoilers
Just to elaborate a bit:
- When I say there's a lot of story, I'm not exaggerating. There are extended periods of time where you're just watching/reading. The game itself doesn't really get going for roughly 20 minutes, though the beginning does include some minor gameplay. But I dig it. Right from the beginning it draws you in and builds up the relationship between The General and his daughter, which sets the stage for everything that goes on. I was instantly invested. And it does a great job of making Sanabi an ominous threat that looms over everything while spinning a compelling mystery.
- Later on in the game you have to climb back up, which I'm not a huge fan of. I know it's a small thing because the areas are different the second time around, but the feeling of going through the same area again isn't something that appeals to me. But it also wasn't enough to hurt the experience too much.
Same with the couple bosses. I found two of them kind of annoying, more than fun, but again, this is a small thing.
With that said, those two issues did take me from a 95 to a 90. To be fair, I'd probably still rate this a 93 if I still rated like that.
- Gameplay wise, it does introduce some stuff as you go through, but the meat and potatoes is swinging around with your grappling hook, and it feels good to do so.
In closing: fuck the Overseer. That thing creeped me out.

Mini Review: The story s excellent, which is basically a necessity because this game makes you watch a lot of story. Incredibly emotional with good pacing and some cool plot twists. Platforming (you have a grappling hook) is fluid. I really dig this art style and they do it well. Music slaps so hard. I'm not a massive fan of one or two of the bosses, and there's a part later on that is a little redundant, but this is an awesome game.
