Someone was gravely butthurt last time because Nolan and Aronofsky made my bottom ten directors. There is an explanation, though that person may not like it: I usually won't bother to watch more than 1-2 films by a clearly awful filmmaker (for instance, I only watched 2 by Brian Levant, his #1 bottom director). For the likes of Nolan and Aronofsky, who are very popular and whose every film is hyped to the extreme, I actually make a favorable exception -- which guarantees that they will make the cut when other terrible directors don't. Sadly, though "The Wrestler" and "Interstellar" weren't strictly godawful, I haven't seen a single decent film by those two.
Moribunny, I've noticed this in other forum posts, but we have radically different tastes. I am definitely curious about the types of films you do rank high. And I've taken note. I am honestly eager to go down that "rabbit hole", pun intended, as I generally enjoy a broad variety, but like... you hated Parasite? You hated Parasite THAT much? I get thinking it's overrated, or even boring, I guess, but there's got to be some strong ideological reasons for hating Bong Joon-ho. I think I've only seen Parasite and The Host, but even the biggest hater can't honestly rank them THAT low.

Or maybe the explanation is that you just don't consume and rank, even accidentally, the Kangaroo Jacks and Look Who's Talking Nows of the film world.

Anyways, update on my list, if it needed it:
10. Gus Van Sant, 4 films, 51
Best film - Good Will Hunting (89)
Worst film - Elephant (20)

9. Randal Kleiser, 6 films, 50.83
Best film - Flight of the Navigator (69)
Worst film - Honey I Blew Up the Kid (24)

8. Peter Segal, 4 films, 50.5
Best film - Get Smart (65)
Worst film - Nutty Professor II: The Klumps (15)

7. Paul W.S. Anderson, 5 films, 50.4
Best film - Event Horizon (66)
Worst film - AVP: Alien vs. Predator (38)

6. Dennis Dugan, 4 films, 49
Best film - Happy Gilmore (68)
Worst film - Problem Child (27)

5. Roger Spottiswoode, 5 films, 48.8
Best film - Tomorrow Never Dies (59)
Worst film - Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot (27)

4. Tom Shadyac, 7 films, 47.86
Best film - Liar Liar (66)
Worst film - The Nutty Professor (28)

3. Frank Coraci, 5 films, 43.6

Worst film - Zookeeper (14)

2. Amy Heckerling, 4 films, 37.5
Best film - European Vacation (61)
Worst film - Look Who's Talking Too (17)
