A Hat in Time

Lots of meta charm with some great creative stages (train). dialogue is a hit or miss. fun fast smooth movements which is essential for 3d platform playground, it's fun to explore and catch all the yarn. Long loading. Camera's a pain point as you can't look above you and sometimes gives you bad perspective. Some levels are difficultly annoying with crappy check points. Metro is a cool concept, but the annoying trains + drop pits is ungodly fustrating to play. Didn't finish seal the deal.

It's a mixed bag with a lot of neat ideas. The detective level was cool and memorable, but the Marching Band stage had a lot to be desired. Mechanically, the game is also shallow - it has a rigid sense of momentum and you only have one jump ability. The badge/hats mostly feel worthless and are generally overly contextualized, which makes swapping through them feel like a chore. It's a game that's above average in the platforming genre but not one that particularly impresses me.
