Alone in the Dark 2

Albeit the better controls compared to the first installment, this was a tad more frustrating for sure. It's more action-oriented. Easier. Frustrating segments with the little girl. Not very convincing overall and the atmosphere wasn't as solid as in the first game. / 2026

I like the review I saw: "bigger, harder, less scary." This one has some plusses but falls shy of the original. Two main failings: besides the difficulty, there's a strange thing where once you enter the main part of the house, every enemy in the house comes after you. You have to repeatedly go in and out of the basement door, letting them shoot each other (they aim for you and don't care who's in the way) while ducking out before you get killed. Then the house lies empty for all your puzzling.
