Borderlands 3

Borderlands is Borderlands. It still works for me but it's better in some ways (it evolves the series a teeny bit, but it's ultimately still very similar to past entries) but it doesn't have a villain like Handsome Jack, so it's worse in that way. It suffers a little from not being special anymore since we've had so much over the years. That's why I won't rate this a 90 like I rated 1 and 2.

Some of the worst antagonists in the entire series, the story is flaming garbage BUT the gunplay and guns are fun so ehn it's fine.

I mean, it's Borderlands. If you liked the others, you will probably;ly like this.

Borderlands 1 was a barely playable yet innovative prototype and Borderlands 2 is what a "Borderlands game" is supposed to be: Borderlands 3 iterates over the second game, it's more of same but that's fine and overall it's an improvement when it comes to gameplay, endgame and the item system although a slight downgrade for anything else including graphics, which are better but not enough to justify the much higher system requirements.

While the game may not be at the same level as Borderlands 2 overall the gameplay is what makes the difference here. Awesome weapons and fluid gameplay compared to the other games and it's worth playing just for that.

I already wanted less Borderlands but 3 is just the same thing taken to 11. The story is somehow worse than ever with painfully bad antagonists and they keep finding a new bottom to the humor barrel. The gunplay hasn't improved an iota since the original and multiplayer is still hampered by bullet-spongy garbage. I worry about the mental state of people who like this series because this is aggressively bad. Borderlands deserves better than Borderlands 3 and I only liked the original.
