I returned this to the store after 2 weeks of trying to endure the banal slog and the clerk behind the desk asked why I was returning this so fast. "BECAUSE IT SUCKS DINK"

I won't be so hard on Destiny. It's an important cautionary tale of game development: this is what happens when an ace developer, known for stellar shooters and engaging with their fans, gets greedy and signs with an out-of-touch publisher, which takes the developer's game and twists it into a cash cow, disrespecting and shutting out gamers in the process. But Destiny still innovated for consoles, still broke molds, and there's a nugget of beauty in its hollowness.

The foundation of Destiny is solid, the shooting works great and the enemies are varied enough to make it interesting. However, almost everything around the main mechanic is absolute garbage. The story is a boring train-wreck, the mission-design is far worse than it should be, some strikes are very unrefined, and the weapons are not where they need to be either. It's probably the worst game I ever played for 100 hours.
