There's some cool things you can do by mixing together powers but even then the game is super limited while boasting insufferable design. The game gives you no indication of the enemies detection nor how well you're hidden, and verticality is too much of an easy solution to escape alerted enemies. Powers, especially blink, trivialize encounters in a way you can just skip entire setpieces. This wouldn't be so bad if the AI wasn't so one-note and actually interacted with the powers in some way.

I didn't like the artistic similarity to the Fable series. It killed a lot of the realism of this game. But the gameplay was a lot of fun. I enjoyed how many different ways you could accomplish your goal. However, some missions were much harder because of these lack of options.

I'm really sick of the whole silent protagonist thing.

I liked Thief, I liked Arx Fatalis, so I really should have enjoyed Dishonored. But I just bounced off of the game - it wasn't fun to play, the gameplay was way too easy, and the atmosphere didn't capture me. A shame.

Took all the lessons taught from the failure Deus Ex: Invisible War and learned nothing from them.

Amazing world and great gameplay, but the story is generic and the morality system feels very unnatural.

This game is ten years old and it's still pretty great. The stealth gameplay is tense and exciting, and the way the storytelling enshrines player agency and its very core is terrific. I'm not to crazy about the silent protagonist trope, which is a product of the time period but beyond that this game is a certified classic in my book.

Too limited, too forceful but in a repetitive way. Good story and world design but not a "GotY" type of game for me.
