Tedious fighting, crappy fast travel, grinding for levels and its not an open world. The Zelda/Skyrim type dungeon exploring was good, but then you'd have some BS difficulty spike enemy at the end, and these bits were rare anyway.

Flawed and rough around the edges but very fun to play as a whole. Good combat and a deep deep game that you can really get into. I strongly recommend getting Dark Arisen instead of the original game alone since Dark Arisen comes with a lot of useful stuff. The lack of good fast travel really sucks at times.

Even though I will fully admit, a bunch of this game feels unpolished, and 'open world' would be a misnomer as the world is long, but narrow in many respects, the combat is so fun. The pawn system is a very neat concept, but dang it, I want to make my own team so much I make other accounts and level other characters just to have the ability to pick a team of pawns.
